Bassey Ikpi is a poet, writer, mental health advocate, and author. She toured with Def Poetry Jam from 2001 to 2004. In 2011 she founded The Siwe Project to encourage people with mental illnesses to “be inspired to seek help and to manage their illnesses and to not be afraid or ashamed to talk about it.”
