Tupac Shakur was her son.

2/6/07 she delivered the keynote address at Vanderbilt University’s Black History Month Comemoration.

She founded the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foudation with revenue from Tupac’s posthumously released albums.

She founded Amaru Entertainment, the holding company for all Tupac’s unreleased materials.

She was a member of the B.P.P. and pregnant with Tupac when she was jailed and charged with conspiracy to bomb in New York. The charges were dismissed and she was released before Tupac was born.

She launched a clothing line, Makaveli Branded. It used Tupac’s image as a designer brand. Portions of the proceeds went to Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation.

She created Amaru Records as a vehicle to release Tupac’s albums and sued Death Row Records to get the rights.

In 2014 created the Broadway musical, Holler if you hear me which featured Tupac’s music.

In 2005 her friend and actress, Jasmine Guy published Afeni Shakur: Evolution of a Revolutionary.
